About Maria

Maria Mazzola has been performing for 20 years. She studied piano for eight years and performed recitals at Steinway Hall in New York City. After having studied voice for five years with Julliard graduate and Broadway veteran, Betty Ann Cluthe, Maria continued her musical education at New York University and received her Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance specializing in musical theater. It was her joy to finish her degree in Florence, Italy where she studied the language and culture. Her musical education also includes a summer semester at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ. Upon graduation, she was featured on the Food Network Semi-Homemade with Sandra Lee and also sang in a television commercial for Family Ford.
Maria has had a long-standing relationship with Disney as a lead performer. She performed for Tokyo Disney as a lead singer in five different productions, one of which she played the role of Ariel from The Little Mermaid. She also performed on the Disney Cruise Line where she portrayed the roles of Pocahontas and Belle from Beauty and the Beast. Other credits include Snow White in Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs, Philia in A Funny Thing Happened On the Way to the Forum and Sarah in Guys & Dolls. She has worked for television networks including the Talent and Casting Department of Nickelodeon and The View on ABC.
It has been Maria’s privilege to be the first to sing the National Anthem for her school and hometown and also had the honor of performing the National Anthem at the Meadowlands in NJ. She has had the honor of performing for Former Gov. Mario Cuomo, Former Gov. Jim McGreevey, and James Watson. She’s done vocal recordings of new works for composer/lyricist teams. She is thrilled to have her song, “Awaken” which she co-wrote and co-arranged, featured in an upcoming documentary titled, “Someday Melissa.” Maria was the first winner of the National Vocal Competition sponsored by the National Association of Home Builders where she performed in Las Vegas. She presently performs for weddings in the New York and New Jersey area. She currently has her own private music studio, MDM Studio and also teaches with the performing arts school, Gateway to the Arts.
